Ben Ali SNAP

Introduction

In November 2007, the City Council approved an action plan that included using Community Development Block Grant funds to prepare a Strategic Neighborhood Action Plan (SNAP) for the Ben Ali Neighborhood. A SNAP is an action-oriented plan for neighborhood improvement which establishes the neighborhood's priorities for the next 3-5 years, including steps and timelines for achieving these priorities.

Project Location

The area is generally bounded by Auburn Boulevard to the west, Marconi Avenue to the north, Capital City Freeway (Business 80) to the east, and Silica Avenue to the south.

SNAP Process

The SNAP process is a collaborative effort between City staff and residents and business owners in the neighborhood. City staff will introduce the SNAP process and concept through existing neighborhood and business association meetings. Following these meetings, two workshops will be held to develop a list of priorities, prepare a vision for the neighborhood, and solicit feedback on timelines and implementation. A SNAP will be developed based on the results of the workshops.
